The lady that worked the front desk around midday was horrible. I stayed here with my family and booked a room with double beds. Their was only enough towels for two people in the room. I went to the front desk to ask for more towels and it was like I committed a crime. The lady at the front desk wanted to know when did I check in, how long had I been in my room ,and what was my room number. She told me she doesn't normally give towels that early in the day and handed me two big towels, which still wasn't enough. My husband went back and asked for towels and was told no because she gave me towels. I told her she only gave me two big towels and we needed face towels. She handed me two . I had to go back to the room and try to divide towels to take baths and get ready for a funeral the next morning. I have never had this problem in any other hotel I've ever stayed in. When I book rooms with double beds there's normally a stack of towels in the room. I even had to go ask for tissue paper. The lady that worked the overnight shift was very nice and helpful. I also had a lot of very large ants in my room and was cleaned very well.
This is an average hotel that fits the bill if you need a room for a night or two. The room was comfortable and relatively clean. They overlook the details though - the alarm clock was pretty grimy looking and there was a large stain on the window seat cushion. Not much soundproofing in the rooms either. You can hear everything going on in neighboring rooms. Everything else was more than adequate. The free breakfast was surprisingly good. Overall not a bad place to stay for the price.
The staff were very pleasant, extremely accomadating! It was very late at night and the two women working had great attitudes and were such a blessing. Breakfast was good real eggs, great sausage patties, and soft fresh biscuits! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the rooms are pretty small.....hence the name Microtel!
We had to stop for the night. I have been ill and had to take a break. They need to teach housekeeping how to clean. The windows were awful. The carpet was stained. Bathroom wasn't to bad but if they use CLR the shower head may have shot straight instead of all over the place. The most frightening was the sprinkling head hanging from the ceiling.
Ever arrived from out of town late at night to a friend or family members home after a long drive? Well this is exactly the way it felt when my husband and I arrived Tuesday night after driving in from Austin and pulling into the Microtel. Debbie greeted us at the front desk well after midnight. And after checking us in and chatting with us briefly, Debbie made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable after such a long drive. It truly was like arriving at my sister's for a visit. The free breakfast really added to the great value of the stay. The room was clean and the bed comfy. Water pressure in our top floor room left a little to be desired but the benefit of having noone above far made up for it as we slept like the dead until minutes before check out time. I really appreciated that instead if knocking on the door to hustle us out we received a kind and courteous phone call from staff asking us if we needed an extra night or some additional time. Thank you Debbie! We travel I-10 often and now have a friendly place to stay each time !
